| Our goal is simple: Raise money to send children with Muscular Dystrophy to camp while increasing activities with-in the FM area. The Muscular Dystrophy and Fargo/Moorhead now have the Old Fashioned MDA Motorcycle Run and the MDA Downtown Street Dance.
History of the Independent Bikers Old Fashioned MDA Motorcycle Fun Run Bikers have been sponsoring rides to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association for decades, but the majority of the events are organized by dealers that alienate the bikers that do not ride HD. Well starting in 1999 a group called the Independent bikes made up of a board of representatives from local motorcycle dealers began organizing an Un-Authorized Old Fashioned MDA motorcycle ride to allow all bikers riding any make & model to participate. History of the MDA Downtown Street Dance The Street dance has open many doors for this event by creating a family friendly activity in conjunction with our motorcycle run. 2006 launched the first Annual Street Dance with Bryce Niemiller project performing live on Broadway. Since we have had Betty Does and the Front Fenders perform and added a tremendous fireworks display... Food is served between 6pm and 8pm with roast pork, baked beans, potatoes, potatoes chips, hot dogs, beverages are provided by The Old Broadway and Coca Cola provides free soda. This is all included in the bike registration fee of $20 each biker pays in the morning and for a small entrance fee of $5.00 anyone who would like to come to the Old Broadway at 6pm to watch all the bikes come down Broadway can enjoy the event too. You don't have to ride to have a great time at the Old Fashioned MDA Motorcycle Fun Run and Street Dance. Remember we are family freindly so if you don't have a sitter bring the kids, anyone under 15 is free with parent paid admission. AFTER ALL THIS IS ALL FOR KIDS! If your interested in contributing please contact one of the Committee members at the top of the Links page! Thank you... |
