A few years back a local biker--Ken Christopher ask several area dealers to get together so that we could start an Un-Authorized Old Fashioned MDA Fun (poker) Run to offer a ride to all bikers. Why were we The Un-Authorized Old Fashioned MDA Run? not so long ago no one wanted anything to do with "BIKERS" so anytime we raise money for charity we had to do it "Un-Authorized" and then donate the money we raised after the fact. Well things have change because many charity's embrace Biker events all over the country. In fact the MDA is the Official National Charity of HD, coordinated by local HOG Chapters. Know 9 years ago when we started the Un-Authorized version of the MDA ride we did it because the ride held by the HOG chapter did not welcome you unless you road a Harley Davidson, we invited everyone, and since we were not sponsored by the MDA, We did it the Old Fashioned way. "Un-Authorized" How did we loose the Un-Authorized? Sometime around 2002 or 2003 the local Harley Dealer and the HOG chapter decided to change their charity of choice and dropped the MDA. At that time we became Officially supported by the MDA. The people that make this ride happen over the years have changed but all the dealers that originally started are still at it---this is what makes the The Old Fashioned MDA Run so unique, no one dealer or organization owns the event, this ensures that the ride continues to welcome all bikers regardless of what you ride.
